The Fountains Hotel and Suites lie within walking distance of the city’s many attractions and business centre as well as the Cape Town International Convention Centre. The entrance to the hotel is on the walkway on St Georges Mall with its many trendy shops, quaint stalls, coffee shops and department stores.

The entire ground floor of the hotel is airy and light, with sliding glass doors opening up to views of Table Mountain and the Fountains. It encompasses the reception, the restaurant, the outside terrace and sundeck, a convivial bar and lounge, a swimming pool and a gym with another indoor pool.

Three levels of undercover parking beneath the hotel provide secure parking. Knowledgeable concierges, who know the city inside out, man the desk at the reception day and night and can help with advice on where to eat, what shows are on, interesting tours to do etc. They can also help with bookings. 24-hour room service is also available.

There is wireless internet access right throughout the hotel including the rooms, suites, the public areas and the conference rooms. A business centre, in the lobby, with two Apple computers, caters for busy execs.

Location

The hotel is located close to the on and off ramps of the N1 and N2, the two major motor ways leading in and out of the city.

The V&A Waterfront and Cape Town Internation Convention Centre is are just down the road. The Harbour and the industrial area of Paardeneiland are just a short drive away.

Many head offices of international companies are within easy walking distance. Cape Town’s buzzy Long Street, with its many trendy pubs and clubs, is a few blocks away. Famous restaurants, including Jardine, Bukhara, Mama Africa and Caveau on the historical Heritage Square, are also close by.

Cape Town’s Central Improvement District, which has been in operation for a few years now, has made the city centre a pleasant, clean and safe environment to walk around in, even at night, although caution – as in any city around the world, is always advisable.

Accommodation

The Fountains Hotel offers 160 en-suite bedrooms. All are tastefully decorated with crisp white linen offset with bold and vibrant colours, individual climate control, wireless internet access, a mini bar, DSTV and tea and coffee making facilities. Each room also has a hairdryer and a safety deposit box. Some of the rooms, each with a comfortable en-suite bathroom, have views over the harbour, others over Table Mountain or the vibrant Thibault Square. Beautifully beaded gecko’s, made by local artisans, add local colour to the rooms.

The Fountains Suites are situated on the top four floors. There are a total of 70 spacious suites, ranging from bachelor to 1, 2 or 3 bedrooms. Each fully serviced suite has a fully equipped kitchen with crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils. The living room comes equipped with a comfortable sofa, a TV and a dining table, a real home away from home.A butler service can be arranged to complement the feeling of pure luxury. The tastefully furnished suites have a balcony and are also equipped with individual climate control, wireless internet access, a mini bar, DSTV, tea and coffee making facilities, a hairdryer and a safety deposit box.

The Suites are ideal for medium term rentals for company executives, industry captains, people relocating to the city and shipping personnel on shore leave. Guests can opt for self catering, or take advantage of being part of a hotel with its bar, restaurant, terrace and gym. Meals can be ordered through room service to be brought up to the suites.

Conference

 Various rooms and set-ups can be arrange for 20 up to 250 delegates in u-shape, school room or cinema style. An in house professional conference co-ordinator will advise you. Standard equipment, including overhead projectors, flipcharts with markers and notepads and pens is provided free of charge.

Smaller conferences and business meetings can take place in the totally private suites.

Ample accommodation for delegates, restaurant facilities as well as easy parking makes this an ideal inner city venue for any type of conference.
 

Facilities

The bright and modern restaurant seats 120 people. A buffet is available for a sumptuous breakfast, lunch and dinner. On sunny days the doors open up completely, joining the restaurant to the outside vibey terrace alongside the long and narrow pool. Guests can also recline on the loungers on the sun deck and enjoy the sun.

For the fitness-conscious there is a small gym with its own indoor pool, sauna and change rooms.

The hotel provides around the clock security.
