Sungulwane Hills Game Lodge is a unique and picturesque privately owned  Game farm located at the foothills of the Lebombo Mountains in the iSimangaliso World Heritage Site. (previously known as the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park)

The farm owned by the well-known Zululand ‘trading’ family, the Morrison’s  of Makakatana on the Western shores of Lake St Lucia, was formerly a cattle farm. With their passion for wildlife and conservation, John and Bruce Morrison have fenced the farm, and worked extremely hard to restore it to its natural habitat.

Sungulwane Hills Game Lodge offers comfortable Three Star Graded accommodation in Zululand. Our rates include a full English breakfast and a gourmet Farm Style three course dinner, which you can enjoy in our cosy dining facility.

Facilities

The rooms - being an old hunting camp, our rooms are cosy with thatch roofs that come down low around the rooms. This is especially great during the summer months (most of the year) as it keeps the rooms cool. All our rooms have en-suite facilities & air conditioning. Full linen & mosquito nets are provided and rooms are serviced dilay. You can enjoy a cup of tea or coffee from your hostess tray on your private veranda any time of day.

The main building hosts reception, the dining room, bar & two spacious lounges. One lounge has a fire place & informal book exchange while the other is close to reception with loads of information on safaris in our area & other parts of the country. Although we have a television with limited satelite channels, we encourage guests to rather listen to the sounds of the bush. The tea & coffee buffet is available throughout the day & we serve a light afternoon tea daily around 15h30. We have a lovely pool & pool towels are provided for guest use. We serve dinner in our open-air boma & breakfast on the patio as often as the weather allows us to do so. The patio overlooks a small waterhole & one often sees up to 40 different species of bird & some of the smaller game species while sitting there quietly with a drink.

Services - we can cater for small private weddings, conferences, birthdays, romantic engagements & offer honeymoon packages. A laundry service is available at a minimal extra charge. We offer a reservations service for several other safari operators in the area & can assist you with car-hire & accommodation in other areas as well.

Cuisine - we offer various catered packages, including Bed & breakfast, Dinner, bed & breakfast & Full board. Special dietary requirements are catered for by prior arrangement. Picnic hampers for day excursions are available on request - please give us enough time to pack you a feast!
